On internships:
I was the Walt Disney intern at Allied Integrated Media in Boston. I forget exactly how I got the internship, but I know it was through networking that I found it. It required a lot of assistant work and research and face-to-face, on-your-feet promotions. This helped tremendously when I got my first job because I had done all the basic “shit” work. I had the foundation.
On first jobs:
I was a publicity associate at the Karpel Group in New York. I found it through my previous internship at Allied - two people at the small firm had previously interned there. I stayed there for three and a half years until I was no longer learning or growing in the position.
On his current job:
I am a social media producer at Tiny Horse. I previously worked on "America's Got Talent" as my first project with this company and now I'm working on "The Voice." I assist the social team with anything and everything. My favorite part of my job is getting to meet so many talented people. My least favorite part of the job is all the charts I have to maintain.
Advice:
Take lots of jobs and projects, do your best, find what you are passionate about and build relationships with the people you work with directly. You never know who may be able to help you get a foot in the door. Don’t be fake, but be smart about how you deal with people and nurturing your working relationships.
On the biggest news in his industry and how he gets his news:
I think the biggest news is how Internetlebrities are going mainstream. Video-based social media platforms are allowing fans to relate to more and more people and those people are gaining fame in a snap. I read the Internet. I read my timeline. I get everything I need to read from what other people I follow post on social.
